Classic style bathroom: features, photo

The classic-style bathroom shows the owner’s good taste. It is always modern, fashionable, elegant, especially if you correctly select its content. The classic style in this room can be combined with any other styles in the rest of the apartment - it’s not at all necessary that the whole house should obey the classics.

The main techniques of the classical style are the use of restrained tones, white, gray and black as the basis, natural materials as a sign of solidity and strength, the traditional forms of furniture and sanitary ware, the “classical” layout, which eliminates avant-garde solutions.

Such a bathroom is always elegant, calm, it is nice to be in it. There are no flashy colors and bright color combinations, coarse texture of finishing materials, deliberately “ultra-modern” pieces of furniture or futuristic technology. Everything is very soft, calm, comfortable and truly luxurious.

Classic style loves and constantly uses white. It may be milky white, or the color of white chocolate, or the color of alpine snow — but white in any case. This is the color of purity, space, freedom, expanding not only the horizons, but also the volume of the room. In contrast with the white look dark objects of decor and furniture.

The classic-style bathroom can be decorated in warm sand tones, shades of wood, peach or noble gold. Both white furniture and furniture in natural wood color are perfectly combined with them. Sandstone-inspired natural stone trim and golden accessories create an elegant image of a “golden” bathroom.

Instead of a stone, as a finishing material outside the “wet zone”, you can use wallpaper, or lay tiles on the walls in the whole room. The selection of color combinations and patterns on this finish allows you to give the bathroom a unique charm.

The classic style bathroom interior does not impose any significant restrictions on the shape, size and color of the bathroom bowl. But bright colors or super-complex and “conceptual” forms like a hanging hammock or a “wooden” barrel will still be out of place.

The oval bath bowl is ideal for a classic bathroom. It can be white, beige, gray, even black.

Copper elements can successfully complement the overall image: for example, luxuriously look baths on cast bronze legs, carved or having the shape of lion legs. These legs are perfectly combined with copper faucets and spouts.

In the bathrooms of small sizes, the bath bowl is usually placed near one of the walls. At the same time, plumbers are trying to “sew up” and veneer the trim with stone tiles.

If the bathroom is of considerable size, which is often the case in private homes, the design of the bathroom in a classic style can be made very effective by placing the bath itself in the center of the room and ensuring an approach to it from all sides. This is no longer simple, but a truly royal bathroom!

In the event that there is a bay window in the room allocated for the bathroom, the bath bowl can be placed in it, while it would be appropriate to choose an unusual shape for it, which will emphasize the unusual position of the bath. It is not only beautiful, but also a functional solution that allows you to maximize the use of bathroom space.

The material of which the bath bowl is made can be any, usual cast iron, or fashionable acrylic - it all depends on your preferences. If the bathroom is located on the second floor of a wooden house, it is better to stay on lighter material, considering that the weight of the cast-iron bath with water is about 200 kg, and the wooden floors withstand a load of up to 150.

Recently, baths made of natural materials — stone, including marble, copper, and even wood — have come into fashion! By special order, you can make a bath of porcelain or glass - it all depends on the desire and financial capabilities.

All these materials are perfect for a bathroom in a classic style. Such an unusual bath can be a central element of the interior and give it exclusivity.

The shower cabin in small bathrooms is used, as a rule, as the main place for taking hygienic procedures, since it is difficult to place a bath of normal size in a small area.

In cases where the shower is placed in addition to the bath, the “booth” is fenced off in the corner, separated from the common room by glass panels. In this embodiment, it does not clutter up the space, and creates additional amenities.

The surface of the walls in the volume of the shower stall, as a rule, is finished in the same tones and the same materials as the rest of the room, due to which the interior looks solid and harmonious.

Quite often, a place for taking a shower is combined with a bathroom, arranging a common “wet” zone behind a glass partition. This option is applicable in small areas, when it is not possible to place both the bath itself and the shower cabin.

The classic design of the bathroom can be added with mirrors or mirror tiles - it will visually expand the room and add shine and light to it.

When space allows, you can build for the shower and a full wall of arbitrary shape. For these cabins need glass doors and their own light sources.

Since the classic style is usually made up of fairly spacious bathrooms, the trend of recent years is very relevant for them: two sinks in one room. Indeed, two sinks are much more convenient than one, because they allow you to wash at the same time in the morning “rush hours” at once to two family members.

You can arrange two sinks in different ways.

  • The most popular is near, in the direction perpendicular to the bath cup. This situation is very functional and ergonomic, besides it saves space.
  • It is interesting to look two shells, if they are arranged symmetrically - opposite each other. But this is only possible if there is enough space for two adults to freely fit between them.
  • Less commonly, the sinks are placed in a classic-style bathroom interior in a parallel way, that is, next to each other in a direction parallel to the bath bowl. Usually this option is used in large rooms.
  • In some cases, the bath is placed in the center, and on both sides of it - the sink. This arrangement has a lot of advantages: the two who wash at the same time do not interfere with each other, a small “personal space” is formed near each sink. But this option is applicable only in a large bathroom.

As a rule, in standard bathrooms of standard apartments all the furniture in the bathroom is reduced to a pair of three lockers: one, floor - under the sink, and wall-mounted - above the sink and above the toilet.

However, the owner of a country house or a large modern apartment can place in the bathroom not only everything needed for washing, but also chairs, sofas for rest, dressing tables for make-up, showcases with dear to heart.

If a classic-style bathroom has really large dimensions, allowing not only to equip a rest corner, but also to place a fireplace in it - you should not abandon this idea, although at first glance it seems too unusual. The combination of two elements - water and fire - can give an incredible feeling, and transfer to the atmosphere of an ancient castle.

The design of the bathroom in the classical style involves the use of classic lamps - that is, large chandeliers, sconces, perhaps even floor lamps. The shape of the luminaires is preferred classical, and their material should be combined with the rest of the bathroom decor.

For example, for a room with an abundance of mirrors, gilded elements, decorative columns, or decorated with paintings, solemn crystal chandeliers are suitable. At the same time do not forget about the functionality. In order for the bathroom to be comfortable to wash and perform other hygiene procedures, some areas need to be highlighted additionally.

Near the mirrors above the sinks they use an additional sconce, in the shower cubicles - spotlights built into the ceiling, lamps are put on the dressing tables or they surround the mirror above them with a solid light, like the one used in professional make-up rooms.
