The basic principles of the design of an apartment of 38 meters - the observance of a clear geometrical shape and the use of modern eco-friendly materials. It was possible to withstand these principles fully.
Practically only two materials were used as finishing materials in the whole living space: plywood and concrete. Part of the plywood elements is left in natural color, part of it is painted in deep blue. Floor covering, wallpaper, furniture - all this is plywood.
Designers managed to allocate a separate bedroom in a small apartment, building a sliding glass wall and complementing it with a thick curtain.
The kitchen is unusually solved: it fits in the aisle between the entrance area and the living room area. In this part of the kitchen cabinets and appliances built into a wooden cube, inside which is located the bathroom.
In a narrow black niche on the ceiling, lamps are fixed on a black rod — in such conditions, their mount becomes invisible, and bright spots of light seem to hang in the air, illuminating the space. This niche unites the interior of the apartment in a single ensemble.
This is not the only designers ’soaring floating’ in the air: at first glance, the wooden tabletop in the living room also doesn’t rely on anything, and only on close inspection can one notice the glass legs.
The wall of concrete in the living room is not closed, it is decorated with a poster: black branches of trees on a white background. The contrast of colors emphasizes the geometric design of an apartment of 38 meters. In general, a gray neutral wall is an expressive background for decorative details and various interior accents.
There is no door between the sleeping area and the living room area - the doorway has widened to almost the size of the entire wall. It is closed by a sliding partition of glass.
This allows you to combine space, visually expand it. At the same time, a bedroom in a small apartment remains an intimate and cozy area - it is only necessary to close the partition and push the thick curtain along it.
Round holes are cut out in plywood “wallpaper” - there you can insert specially made pins and use them for various needs. For example, you can fasten shelves to these pins, or hang clothes.
The bed is another piece of furniture “floating in the air”: its glass legs are completely invisible.
Large soft pillows transform the storage system, built along the blue wall, into a comfortable sofa. In the design of the apartment of 38 meters used every corner of the space, all interior items are multifunctional.
The wall near the head can also be used in different ways: either in the same way as the blue wall, or to adjust the height of the light sources. Since bedside tables are replaced here with hanging hangers, their cords can be wrapped around the pins, thus adjusting the illumination.
The working area in the bedroom is located near the window, and here the vision is not deceiving - it really does not have legs! But there are no miracles here, the laws of gravity are respected in full - the tabletop has an emphasis on the walls.
The walls in the entrance area and in the bedroom in a small apartment are finished in the same way: plywood panels with round holes into which special pins are inserted.
In the bedroom, these pins can be used as hangers for hangers, in the hallway they hold on themselves a round mirror and a roomy shelf. You can also hang outerwear, umbrellas or bags on them.
In the bathroom used tile color of concrete in the wet zone, and the remaining walls were painted with paint that is resistant to moisture.
The round sink, rounded bowls of the toilet and bathroom contrast with rectangular mirrored facades and open square niches of the storage system. This contrast of forms emphasizes the overall geometrical design of an apartment of 38 meters.
